Of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip to Japan this might be our favourite. The staff were unmatched with their hospitality - just so helpful polite and welcoming. The hotel accepts and sends luggage which was a flawless process! Our luggage was there when we arrived and went were able to send it to our next hotel with no trouble. Very worth the extra money in my opinion. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The bath was huge and you could help yourself to free bath salts amongst other amenities - razors, exfoliating cloth, hair brush, cotton buds etc. from the reception. Stunning view of the city as we were on the 7th floor. The elevator is partly glass and also offers a great view of the skyline and street as you’re coming down/up. Great air conditioning. The location is superb, a mere two minute walk onto Dotonbori street where you can enjoy the incredible signage including the Glico man and enjoy even more incredible food. Plenty of arcades around. The atmosphere is incredible. If you stick around by the river you’ll see boats go by with musicians playing and as they go under the bridge hearing the acoustics was a very cool experience. (We also happened to experience the camera obscura phenomenon in our Osaka hotel room - the skyline appeared on our wall. A photo is included.) The vintage shopping and variation of designer shops in the surrounding area was amazing.

The breakfast was amazing. A combination of European and Japanese food which was amazing. Everything was freshly cooked. We had a triple room which was the perfect size for us 3 adults, however, as is standard in a lot of Japanese rooms, we just about managed to keep our luggage out of the way so we could comfortably walk around. The pyjamas and slippers provided were very comfy. The rooms were cleaned as requested, however, the housekeepers caused some damage to my daughters shoes. The kind lady on reception listened to our concern and couldn't be more apologetic, but there was nothing that could be done really. She came to find us the next day and offered my daughter a few Osaka goodies. The location was ideal for travelling via trains and exploring Dotonbori and Namba on foot.

Cross Hotel Osaka is in a great location in central Osaka. It’s beside the Ebisubashi Bridge and very close to the tourist magnet of Dotonbori. The closest Metro station is Namba. The best exit for the hotel is 15B through the Namba HIP building, which has escalators to the ground floor. The closer exit 14 is all stairs and no good with suitcases. Hotel rooms are minimalist Scandi functional, and by Japanese standards a good size. They are, of course, clean. The bathroom is kitted out in Onsen style, with a “wet room”, including a bath and shower without a shower curtain.

It was a very pleasant hotel if you're interested in being in the heart of Dotonbori. Only steps from the Dotonbori Bridge and the Glico sign. Hotel was fairly quiet except when motorcyclists drove by revving their engines at midnight. (Is that a thing in Osaka??) Breakfast was very good, with something for nearly everyone. Staff was extremely friendly. And while the "lounge" was small, it was a nice place to stop for a drink after a day of walking Osaka.

Location is close to all the action in Osaka. Rooms are a good size and well appointed. Amenities available in reception area to reduce waste. Directly across the road from hotel is the nightlife area of restaurants and clubs. Breakfast options outside hotel are few so recommend you book with breakfast included.
